About the Lead Consultant
Onye Ofunwa is a strategist, writer, and organizer with a background in nonprofit development, strategic communications, and movement lawyering.
They’ve led development and strategy work with organizations including the ACLU of the National Capital Area, UCLA Labor Center, Detention Watch Network, The Immigrant Youth Coalition, and UndocuBlack Network.
Onye has secured over $4 million in funding for mission-driven organizations across grassroots advocacy, legal services, and policy work. Their consulting supports teams working toward equity, justice, and long-term sustainability—through grant writing, fundraising strategy, internal communications, and facilitated planning.
